WHAT IS SPIRITUAL HEALING?
It is the transfer of healing energy from a natural source within the universe via the Healer.
HOW DOES HEALING WORK?
Healers have the ability to link with this energy and channel it to the patient. The object is to balance and harmonise the three elements of your body - mind, body and spirit, and thus restore good health.
This gentle process usually begins with the Healer briefly holding your hands, gently placing their hands on your shoulders or upon your head. These methods of initial contact assist the Healer to attune with you and the source of healing energy. They will then place their hands on or close to various parts of your body as and when they are inspired. This may or may not include the area that you feel is giving you trouble. The Healer will be sensitive to matters of your modesty at all times. If you do not wish to be touched you should tell your Healer at the start of your treatment.
WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO?
Have an open mind. Try to relax as much as possible and not to be anxious. You will be more receptive to the healing process with a positive attitude. Once you are in a comfortable seated or lying position the Healer may help you achieve this through breathing and visualisation techniques.
WILL I FEEL ANYTHING?
You may feel a sensation of heat or coldness emanating from the Healers hands or a slight tingling or trembling. As the treatment progresses you are likely to experience a feeling of peace and calm. Hopefully, by the end of your session you will feel relieved of tension, relaxed, more supple and an easing of pain.
HOW LONG SHOULD I HAVE HEALING?
One treatment is sometime sufficient although healing is often a progressive process with gradual results. Don't be discouraged if early results are not forthcoming. Gradually, you may realise that you feel calmer, healthier and more confident. It is rare for anyone to attend for a period on a regular basis and not feel any benefit.
WILL HEALING CURE ME?
No person, doctor or Healer can guarantee to cure an illness. Our Code of Conduct forbids us to claim that cure will be effected.
SHOULD I TELL MY DOCTOR?
Healing compliments treatments provided by your doctor or hospital and is NOT an alternative to it.
Our Code of Conduct specifically refers to the relationship between you and your doctor:-
We would like you to tell your doctor that you are receiving Healing. Nowadays a growing number of doctors refer their patients to a healer or may have Healers working in their practices. Many hospitals and nursing homes have Healers working in them too.
CAN I RECEIVE HEALING IF I HAVE A HEART PACEMAKER FITTED?
You can receive Healing but you MUST tell the Healer that you have a heart pacemaker fitted. The Healer will make sure that they keep their hands at least six inches away from your chest to avoid interfering with the working of the pacemaker.
CAN I RECEIVE HEALING IF I AM TERMINALLY ILL?
Yes. Pain is often alleviated and, for many, a sense of peace and tranquillity is experienced. The fear of death may also be dispelled.
The bereaved also often find much comfort and strength from receiving Healing
ARE RECORDS OR PERSONAL DETAILS OF PATIENTS KEPT?
A brief account of your condition is recorded. This record is updated with a report of progress etc. at each subsequent visit. This information is regarded as strictly confidential and is only accessible to the Healer(s) and patient. Our Code of Practice and Insurance conditions demand that such records are kept.
CAN I RECEIVE HEALING AT HOME?
You can receive healing at home by Absent Healing. (Go to the 'About Healing' page for details.) A home visit is required this can be arranged if it is possible. Ask the Healer.
HOW MUCH WILL I PAY FOR HEALING?
There is no charge for healing at our centre. We simply request that a donation is made to help with expenses. Charges vary for home visits. Ask the Healer about charges for home visits.
WHAT PROOF CAN I SEE THAT THE HEALER IS REGISTERED AND QUALIFIED?
Request to see their membership card. All registered Healers will have a membership card of the Healing association to which they are registered. This is proof that the Healer is fully trained, working to a mandatory Code of Conduct and are insured. This is your safeguard.
